The event held at the India Expo Center and Mart conference center in the city of Noida, in the state of Uttar Pradesh, was attended by regulatory authorities from 73 countries.
Representatives of Latin American and Caribbean nations such as Cuba, Ecuador, Colombia, Bolivia, Peru, Chile, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Paraguay, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Antigua and Barbuda participated.
The director of the Center for the State Control of Medicines, Equipment and Medical Devices (Cecmed) of Cuba, Olga Lidia Jacobo, told Prensa Latina that her delegation discussed experiences with regulatory authorities meeting in order to facilitate access to medicines, as well as on issues related to the Covid-19 pandemic and the pharmacopoeia.
‘We also exchanged with representatives of the pharmaceutical industry participating with their products of various ranges in the exhibition fair that was held in parallel to the meeting’.
For Cuba, attendance at this type of event is important because historically the island received medicines, raw materials, supplies and finished products from India, which are of high quality, the Cuban specialist said.
The exhibition brought together representatives from the Indian drug industry, pharmaceuticals, healthcare and pharmaceutical technologies.
